Benjamin Zephaniah - touch

Touch
by Benjamin Zephaniah
(lyrics)

When I see you I know life was made for Living
When I see you I don't wanna die
When I don't see you, I sleep and dream about you
It’s the truth I am telling you, poets don't lie
Sometime I think I cant survive without you
I wanna introduce you to my crew
Sometime I think I wanna give it all up
Everything. Well, everything but you

When I see you I know life is about sharing
When I see you I know why caged bird sings
When I see you I know why it is I am caring
About love and life and every living thing
And now that we are in this space together
And the party people have all come and gone
I really want this time to last forever
So I am asking you to keep your clothing on

Yes I wanna touch your body
Yes I wanna touch your body
Yes I wanna touch your body
But first I wanna touch your mind

When I look up your face I feel inspired
I feel a loving surge when I get close to you
It’s intelligence that I really admire
That is why i like to think things through
You light me when darkness fails upon me
You cool me when i cannot take the heat
I feel so wanted anytime you call me
Even though you kinda knock me off my feet

And when you smile it is like the sun is shining
And all the good around me seems to grow
Yea girl, you got the rhythm and the timing
So let's take things nice and slow
Check out that we're dancing to the same tune
Check where we're going to and coming from
The seeds that we have planted, will blossom soon
But girl keep your clothing on

Yea I wanna touch your body
Yea I wanna touch your body
Yea I wanna touch your body
But first I wanna touch your mind

I wanna touch you girl right in your head
I wanna touch you girl deeper, deeper
I wanna touch you girl right in your head
I wanna touch you girl deeper, deeper

It's emotional, it's spiritual. It's natural
Our union is something to behold
But we can't afford to keep it superficial
Because it's all about the body and the soul
I reckon that this trip could last forever
But nothing must be done with any force
Let's put our minds together
And have mental intercourse

Yea I wanna touch your body
Yea I wanna touch your body
Yea I wanna touch your body
But first I wanna touch your mind

I wanna touch you girl right in your head
I wanna touch you girl deeper, deeper
I wanna touch you girl right in your head
I wanna touch you girl deeper, deeper
deeper, deeper
